Join Port Softball & Baseball for a special day at the diamond to help raise money to Strike Out Cancer. The day will be packed with action featuring 3 baseball and 3 softball games. Food and drinks will be available and opportunities to help raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society.  The games start at 10:00am at Guggenheim Elementary School, 38 Poplar Place, Port Washington, NY. The Friends of the Sands Point Preserve’s Board of Directors will be hosting their most exciting fundraising event of the year: The 2012 Preservers’ Celebration The Pirates of the Caribbean. Join them as they transform The Hempstead House into a swarthy, seaworthy vessel-walk the gangplank to enter the festivities-come dressed as a ship’s captain or a rogue scallywag… a lady or a galley wench. The event will begin at 7:00pm at The Hempstead House, Sands Point Preserve, 127 Middle Neck Road, Port Washington, NY.

Eileen Ivers & Immigrant Soul will be at Jeanne Rimsky Theater at the Landmark on Main Street. She’s been called a “sensation” by Billboard Magazine and “the Jimi Hendrix of the violin” by the New York Times. Eileen is hailed as one of the great innovators and pioneers in the Celtic and World music genres. The show starts at 8:00pm and prices vary from $35-$45. Sunday ~ April 29th

The Helen Keller National Center is holding their annual 5k walk. You can participate as a walker, sponsor a walker, or give a donation. Check-in is at the Sands Point Preserve from 8AM – 9AM. The finish line is at the Helen Keller National Center where walkers will receive free refreshments. Sands Point Preserve, 127 Middle Neck Road, Sands Point, NY.

Landmark on Main Street and the Port Washington Public Library are co-presenting a World Festival. Festivities will take place on both sides of Main Street for the afternoon from 1 – 6:30 PM.
