Friendly Reminder from Heidi Spellman Realty

According to the Receiver of Taxes, if you haven’t filed your assessment grievance yet for the 2014 Assessment Roll it isn’t too late!

The Town of North Hempstead, Office of the Receiver of Taxes sent out the following notice regarding the deadline to file your grievance and where you can obtain any information you may need in order to file your grievance.

Please be aware that the period to file an assessment grievance with the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission (ARC) on the tentative 2014 Assessment Roll ends on March 1, 2012. (Grievance forms are available at the Receiver of Taxes office.) You may mail or hand-deliver an Application for Correction of Property Tax Assessment to ARC, located at 240 Old Country Road, Mineola, NY 11501. If you have any questions regarding the grievance process, you may contact ARC at (516) 571-2391 or visit their website at: www.nassaucountyny.gov/arc. Additionally, Assessment Review on the Web (AROW), allows you to research residential sales, monitor ARC’s actions, and file your grievance online.

Note: If your taxes are paid through a mortgage-escrow account you should:

  • Notify Receiver of Taxes, in writing, when your mortgage has been satisfied so that they can bill you directly.
